Our History

Since 2000, Copper Meadows has hosted two USEA Recognized Horse Trials annually and hosted their inaugural FEI CIC3* event in 2014! Founded by Robin and Carolyn Hoffos in 2000, it was Carolyn’s dream to own a facility and run an event to give back to the sport she’s loved her whole life. Copper Meadows started as – and continues to be – a truly family run business: at the inaugural event, Robin Hoffos was the announcer, the Hoffos’ daughter Taren ran the ‘snack shack,’ and the Hoffos’ son, Drew, operated the water truck. In 2010, Taren took over day-to-day operations and event organizing at Copper Meadows and strives to keep the family feel, making this event a unique experience for competitors.
