Eventing can be defined as an “equestrian triathlon” that challenges both horse and rider. Consisting of three phases—dressage, cross-country and show jumping—horse and rider are tested on the flat and over fences. Eventing originated as a test for the best military charger and now has evolved into a thrilling sport that attracts multitudes of riders. In fact, both men and women compete against one another on an equal playing field, making Eventing one of the few sports in the world where this is the case.
